11月8日 Sagada One More TimeWent back to my favorite Sagada last week. Nothing much has changed, except for the cellphone signals and Internat access. But the town's mystic charm remains intact. The same sweet scent of pines greet your mornings, the same aroma of brewed mountain coffee jumpstarts your day, and the same savory cuisine cooked with fresh organic harvests fill you up :)
A real spiritual journey.
Check out few picks i posted here, or view my Flickr photos... 4月18日 The Last FrontierPalawan, a province in southern Philippines is known to locals as the Last Frontier because of its untouched natural beauty and enchanting parks.
I visited Busuanga, an island north of Palawan. One will not cease to wonder at the beauty of the place, the healthy environs and sights found nowhere else in the worlds. Deep clear waters of the vast blue sea offer sanctuary to a very diverse marine life. In fact, this region has been proclaimed by experts as home to the richest marine life on earth. Therefore Palawan is paradise to snorklers and divers. Lagoons and lakes are surrounded by high limestone cliffs with rock formations looking like giant gods looking down on visitors. Watching your every move and making sure you respect their sacred abodes. Busuanga is particularly famous among German travellers. Most tourists who come here are from Europe. In fact many Germans have settled here and decided to establish their own dive resorts around the island. I invite you all to visit Busuanga island in the Philippines. Posted some pics, check out my Flicker Photos. 5月17日 Breathtaking SagadaSagada is a little town at the heart of the Cordillera mountains. This is one of my favorite destinations, i've been here 3 times and i still couldn'tget enough of the place. i plan to return in October to revisit the caves, the Echo Valley, the hanging coffins, and the spiritual vibe of the place. The people of Sagada are the Igorots, their local dialect is the Kankana-ey. They are a very intellectual breed and proud of their heritage. That is how the town keeps its serene beauty, the residents do not tolerate vandals or disrespect to their values and traditions. Indeed, Sagada is a spiritual getaway. At least for me. It's where the gods hang out. After all the town seem like it's very close to the heavens. Travelling the rough and winding roads for at least 6 hours is well worth it. 5月9日 Last Hurrah for SummerAnd back to places I've actually been to My friends and i came here two years ago, so naturally photo opportunities were not wasted 5月8日 Tulips In Bloom...It's spring time! The flowers are in bloom and the sun is in full blast showering the world with bright colors Why am I talking about spring when there's really no such season where I come from? Well, there is one place I would die to go to during this season. And that is the Netherlands, with acres and acres of tulip fields! Red, yellow, purple, orange, and all the wonderful hues covering entire towns. That is quite a sight to behold, can u imagine?
5月4日 Visiting Batanes IslandsTalk about paradise on earth, one of the best places i've visited is Batanes Islands up north of the Philippines. This province is closer to neighboring country Taiwan than the main island of Luzon. The simplicity of life here is striking. The people live off their small land and from the gifts of the sea. The main island is Batan, and even in the smaller islands you won't find a public market. Every family has a land to till, suffice it to say that they only harvest what they can consume. In fact, they say no one is poor in Batanes. Because everyone is self-sufficient. The residents are very friendly and trusting. Two simple traits that are very hard to find in the city. Everyone you meet will say Hi or Good Morning. If you need to buy something from a store and no one's manning it, you can get what you need and simply leave your money on the counter. If you have change, you can get it from the cash box inside. Unbelievable? Well here it's not. Guess it's also true that no one steals in Batanes. The panoramic views are breathtaking. All around you see green and blue. Here is where the South China sea and the Pacific Ocean merge. These hills have been immortalized in many local movies. And the smaller islands give snapshots of a rustic past that has stood still. Stone houses big and small, new and ravaged by the countless storms that hit this area every year. But the harshness of the weather is a complete contrast to the warm reception you will get when you visit Batanes. If I get the chance to revisit the places i've been to, Batanes will be on top my list. Just take a look at the pics here and see what i mean 4月14日 My Vision of HeavenPeople have their own idea of heaven and what to expect when they die. Me, however, see heaven on earth. And I want to believe that that vision will be replicated for me when I go to the 'new world'. But first, I want to experience that heaven here on earth. My vision of heaven is me chillin' out in a terrace of an Italian villa facing the ocean, sipping tea and waiting for the sunset to kiss the sea. Watch the rustic village below me go on with their daily routine, probably fishermen showing off their best catch, some folks having wine and pasta al fresco. Beyond the villa are vineyards where they produce the best tasting wine in the world. Golden rays of sun bathing the nearby hills and cool ocean breeze touching my face. I can't think of a lovelier vision than this |
